Aparna has worked in major hospitals in North Carolina such as Wake Med and UNC, gaining immense knowledge in dealing with chronic conditions and genetic conditions such as cystic fibrosis, and immune deficiency conditions such as lupus. This has helped her provide informed care to those with newly diagnosed chronic conditions. In turn, helping patients meet their nutrition needs long term by recommending healthy lifestyle changes and goals.

Aparna has earned Masters in Biochemistry at Institute of Science (1999) and MA in Food Science and Nutrition from Wayne State University (2001). She obtained her license to practice as a registered Dietitian from the state of North Carolina in 2006. Upon achieving her Dietetics License, Aparna worked for 15 years as a Dietitian for Triad hospitals in North Carolina. She has been working as a Dialysis Dietitian CSR for the past 6 years. With her experience and expertise in the field she has learned the complexities of the renal diet. Applying this knowledge, she has helped patients achieve a healthier lifestyle and fewer hospitalizations.

As a next step, she is venturing into Private Practice to help reduce disease conditions that leads to kidney failure. Aparna’s vision is to simplify the complexities of daily diet and living lifestyles, ultimately trying to reduce the incidences of Diabetes, Kidney Failure and Dialysis.

Another field of interest she specializes in, is Integrative and Functional Medicine. Creating individualized plans for each child by eliminating unhealthy practices, food additives, food choices and processed foods can help overcome childhood diseases and behavioral issues. Understanding individual client needs and ensuring successful outcomes is one of the goals she’s determined to achieve.
